Systems we fitted and systems we did not

Air conditioning servicing and repairs

Annual servicing, F-Gas checks and fault finding across Hertfordshire, on any make of system.

Air conditioning rarely stops all at once. It slips quietly: filters clog, coils gather dust, the drain silts up, and the system runs longer and longer to reach the same temperature. Most people notice it on the electricity bill months before anything actually breaks.

The other thing worth knowing is that refrigerant work is restricted by law to F-Gas certified engineers. We are REFCOM F-Gas certified, so the refrigerant side is handled properly rather than left alone.

And you do not have to go back to whoever fitted it. Most of the systems we look after were installed by somebody else, and we are happy to take one on.

What you get

  • Any make, whoever installed it

Daikin, Mitsubishi, Samsung, LG, Panasonic and the rest. If somebody else fitted it, that is not a problem.

  • REFCOM F-Gas certified engineers

Refrigerant may only be handled by certified engineers. Ours are certified through REFCOM, so nothing gets skipped.

  • Filters, coils and drainage cleaned properly, not just wiped

Filters washed, indoor and outdoor coils cleaned, condensate drain cleared, and the system checked while it is running.

  • A written record of what we found and what we did

You get a report after every visit. It is also what a manufacturer asks to see if you ever need to make a warranty claim.

Your options

  • Air conditioning engineer cleaning a washable filter taken from an indoor unit

    Annual service

A full service once a year keeps the system efficient and keeps the manufacturer warranty valid.

    • Cleaning and performance check
    • Refrigerant and pressures checked
    • Written report of what we found
  • Air conditioning engineer using refrigerant gauges on an outdoor unit to trace a fault

    Repairs and fault finding

Not cooling, not heating, leaking water, tripping out or throwing an error code on the display.

    • Diagnosis before parts
    • Common parts carried on the van
    • An honest answer on repair versus replace
  • Air conditioning service record and calendar on a kitchen worktop

    Maintenance plan

Servicing scheduled so you do not have to remember it, with the records kept for you.

    • Booked in advance
    • Reminders sent before each visit
    • Priority when something goes wrong

How it works

  1. Tell us the make and roughly how old the system is.

  2. We book a visit and confirm what it will involve.

  3. We service or diagnose on site, and explain what we found.

  4. Anything that needs parts is quoted before we order.

What affects the price

We do not put a number on this page, because a service and a repair are not the same job, and neither is a single bedroom unit and a system feeding five rooms. What we will do is tell you what the visit will cost before we book it, and quote anything that needs parts before we order them. Nothing gets fitted or replaced without you agreeing to it first.

What moves the price on a job like this

  • How many indoor units the system has
  • Whether it is a straight service or a fault that has to be diagnosed
  • Access to the outdoor unit, including any height involved
  • Whether parts are needed and how common they are
  • Whether you want a one off visit or a plan

Questions we get asked

Once a year is the normal interval for a home system, and it is what most manufacturers ask for to keep the warranty valid. Systems that run hard all year round, or sit somewhere dusty, are better on a six monthly check. If yours has never been serviced, expect the first visit to take a bit longer, because there is more to clean.
