Most people ring us in one of two situations. Either the boiler is fifteen years old and still going, and they are wondering how much longer to push their luck, or it has stopped in February and the house is cold.
The thing worth knowing about the first situation is that an old boiler can still fire up every morning and still be costing you money. Efficiency drops away long before anything actually breaks, so a boiler can be working and wasteful at the same time. That is why the honest comparison is not new boiler against no boiler, it is new boiler against what the old one is quietly costing you to run.
The second situation is where we would rather be straight with you. Not every breakdown means a replacement. If your boiler is a good one, the part is available and the repair makes financial sense, we will say so and repair it. We will also tell you when we think you are about to spend good money on a bad boiler.

No exceptions, and you are welcome to check the registration before we start.
We size to the radiators, the hot water demand and the number of bathrooms, then recommend on that basis.
It gets done at handover rather than left as a card in a drawer for you to deal with.
You are not passed to a maintenance contractor who has never seen the installation.

A straight swap or a change of boiler type, with the system left in a state that protects the new one.

An annual service keeps the boiler safe, keeps it efficient and keeps the manufacturer warranty valid.

No heating, no hot water, pressure dropping or a fault code on the display.
Tell us what you have now and what is wrong with it.
We confirm what the house actually needs.
A survey pins down the boiler, the position and the pipework.
We install, commission, register the warranty and hand over.
We do not publish a price for this, because a like for like swap in the same cupboard and a move from a regular boiler to a combi on the other side of the house are not the same job. What we will do is survey the house, put the whole thing in writing, and make sure you know what is included before you decide anything.
A straight swap, same type and same position, is usually a one day job. Moving the boiler, changing from a regular boiler to a combi, or replacing pipework and controls at the same time takes longer, and we will tell you at survey how many days to expect and how long the heating and hot water will be off.
It depends on how much hot water the house needs at once. A combi heats water on demand and needs no cylinder, which suits most homes with one bathroom. A system boiler works with a cylinder and copes better when two showers might run at the same time. A regular boiler keeps both a cylinder and a feed tank, and usually stays in older systems where changing everything is not worth the disruption. We look at the bathrooms, the radiators and the incoming water pressure before recommending one.
If the boiler is a decent make, the part is available and the repair is proportionate to what the boiler is worth, repairing it is the sensible answer and we will say so. Where we stop recommending repairs is when parts are getting scarce, when the same fault keeps coming back, or when the boiler is old enough that the running cost is the real problem rather than the breakdown. We will give you our honest view either way, and it is your decision.
That depends on the manufacturer and on the model you choose, so we will not quote a figure here that might not apply to your boiler. Longer warranty terms are available to us through our approved installer status with Vaillant, Worcester Bosch and Viessmann. Whatever the term is on the boiler you go with, it is confirmed in the quote before you commit, and we register it with the manufacturer for you at handover.
Yes. We carry out landlord gas safety checks on the boiler and the other gas appliances at the property, and issue the certificate afterwards. If you have several properties we can put the checks on a schedule so the certificates do not lapse.
Free survey, written quote, no pressure.
