Systems we fitted and systems we did not
Annual servicing, F-Gas checks and fault finding across Hertfordshire, on any make of system.
Air conditioning rarely stops all at once. It slips quietly: filters clog, coils gather dust, the drain silts up, and the system runs longer and longer to reach the same temperature. Most people notice it on the electricity bill months before anything actually breaks.
The other thing worth knowing is that refrigerant work is restricted by law to F-Gas certified engineers. We are REFCOM F-Gas certified, so the refrigerant side is handled properly rather than left alone.
And you do not have to go back to whoever fitted it. Most of the systems we look after were installed by somebody else, and we are happy to take one on.

Daikin, Mitsubishi, Samsung, LG, Panasonic and the rest. If somebody else fitted it, that is not a problem.
Refrigerant may only be handled by certified engineers. Ours are certified through REFCOM, so nothing gets skipped.
Filters washed, indoor and outdoor coils cleaned, condensate drain cleared, and the system checked while it is running.
You get a report after every visit. It is also what a manufacturer asks to see if you ever need to make a warranty claim.

A full service once a year keeps the system efficient and keeps the manufacturer warranty valid.

Not cooling, not heating, leaking water, tripping out or throwing an error code on the display.

Servicing scheduled so you do not have to remember it, with the records kept for you.
Tell us the make and roughly how old the system is.
We book a visit and confirm what it will involve.
We service or diagnose on site, and explain what we found.
Anything that needs parts is quoted before we order.
We do not put a number on this page, because a service and a repair are not the same job, and neither is a single bedroom unit and a system feeding five rooms. What we will do is tell you what the visit will cost before we book it, and quote anything that needs parts before we order them. Nothing gets fitted or replaced without you agreeing to it first.
Once a year is the normal interval for a home system, and it is what most manufacturers ask for to keep the warranty valid. Systems that run hard all year round, or sit somewhere dusty, are better on a six monthly check. If yours has never been serviced, expect the first visit to take a bit longer, because there is more to clean.
Yes, and most of the systems we look after were fitted by somebody else. We work on all the common makes and we are not precious about who put it in. If we find something the original installer got wrong, we will tell you plainly and explain what it would take to put right.
We run the system and check it is doing what it should, then wash the filters, clean the indoor and outdoor coils, clear the condensate drain, check the refrigerant pressures and the electrical connections, and measure the air temperature at the grille. Then we tell you what we found and leave a written record of it.
It is usually a blocked condensate drain rather than anything dramatic. The unit takes moisture out of the air and that water has to go somewhere, so when the drain silts up it backs up and comes out of the front of the unit. It is worth dealing with quickly, because water finds its way into plaster and ceilings and that costs far more to fix than the drain does. Turn the unit off and give us a ring.
The refrigerant inside your system is a fluorinated gas, and the law puts rules around handling it. Systems holding more than a set amount must be leak checked at least once a year with records kept. Most single room home systems sit under that threshold, so the annual check is not a legal requirement for them, while larger multi room and commercial systems often are caught by it. Either way, only an F-Gas certified engineer may open up the refrigerant circuit, and ours are certified through REFCOM.
Any make, whoever fitted it.
